The information I want to relay about the realities on this mountain is too important, too delicate, and too heavy to type. I had to share this in video form. This is the most important video I could post – more than any day-to-day video, any fundraising update, this is what is needed – prayer over these things.
I took this video a few weeks ago and have tried numerous times to post it but the wifi has not been able to until now. By the time you are seeing this, we have only one week left on the mountain, but these prayers are just as needed, and I believe you will be impacted to pray for much longer than we are here, as am I.
Please prepare your heart for what I am about to share and be praying alongside us. I am thankful as all get out to be supported by people who I know and trust will be praying for change in this community with us.
Like I said in the video, please feel free to comment your prayers on this blog. As I was wrestling with what to do about this heartbreaking reality – a situation much bigger than me and a logical step-by-step solution, God made it clear the power of intercession.

Thank you Sierra for sharing your concern for this place with us. I will be praying for God to break the stronghold of the enemy on the people of this area. I loved what you said that “nothing was too big for the Lord” Praying for Christ to reach the hearts of the people there in such a way that this horribly evil practice that is currently thought of as normal and accepted will be eliminated and that the men will be changed to view and treat the women there with respect and honor.

Sweet girl…you guys are the hands and feet of Jesus among the nations!!! May the Lord continue to bless the work of your hands and reach hearts that are broken using your words for HIS. Isaiah tells us To whom will you compare Me? Or who is MY equal? Says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the Heavens: who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. The Honduran girls are more precious to Him than the stars above. They were created in His image and He knows them by name. May the power of the Holy Spirit move among the mountains convicting the hearts of the aggressors moving them to repentance as they witness the work you are doing in His Name. And for those innocent victims may Jesus fill their hearts with His presence and the Holy Spirit comfort them with the peace that passes all understanding until their Heavenly Father so chooses to redeem the atrocities that surround them. For your dreams I pray over you 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive EVERY thought to make it obedient to Christ. And Isaiah 26:3, You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because He trusts in You. And Isaiah 41:10 so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. And finally one of my favorites…Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. For your group…Hebrews 13:20-21 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen And 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all. And finally, Romans 15:5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now to Him that is able to do exceedingly MORE that we ask or image we lift up our requests…YOU, and all those around you, are loved and adored by your Creator and Savior!!!
Dear sweet Sierra, thank you for sharing the burden of your heart for the families in the mountain community. I pray that God will “break every chain” that binds them to darkness. Your last statement deeply resonates and reminds me of Rom. 8:26: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
I saw your video updates on Saturday and have been interceding for you and your team. The Lord has caused some of the heaviness you are experiencing to settle into and stir my own heart to fervent prayer and I will continue to do so each day for the next week while you are in Honduras. It is a privilege to come boldly before the throne of the King of the Universe to ask that His purposes be revealed and received in those mountains.
With every person you meet, the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shining into hearts darkened by sin, selfishness and evil. Be bold. Declare God’s Word to them and over them. Jesus said in Matt. 17:21, “…this kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting.” I will also fast some meals over the next week and join you and your team in praying for strongholds to be broken.
Yes, daughter of the King, the victory is already won. When your team worships Him together in unity with believers who live there, not only do you experience freedom in those moments, you are waging spiritual warfare against the oppression that has dominated the region.
This is my prayer for you, Sierra:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For (you) do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” Eph. 6:10-13
And think of the day when you will stand before His throne with countless numbers of people from every nation, kindred and tribe, Hondurans included, and with one voice declare:
“To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” 1 Tim. 1:17
